About ITNews
Digging for truth in Information Technology news is like panning for gold. Every day, tons of fools gold are found. Buried in the mountains of rubble are a few real nuggets of truth, making the effort worthy.
The rubble is mostly public relations new-speak containing the words
aims, advances, announces, bows, charts, could, denies, encourages, expected, explores, eyes, foresee, future, goals, hopes, initiatives, innovations, looks to future, maps out, mission, outlines, plans, preparing, preview, projects, promises, promotes, roadmap, readies, ready to ship, reveals, says, seeks, sees, soon, step toward, suggests, targets, tips plans, to offer, touts, trumpets, unvails, visions, will be, will spend, woos, working on
and other nonsense gussied up to look like real news.
Most of the PR “news” spewing forth isn’t fit to publish as real news. Yet, most IT news organizations are making a living from it. Many don’t bother rewriting the stuff, and some even seems to be manipulating the news. Others look to be nothing more than fronts for industry behemoths.
Some days it takes a strong stomach to wade through the muck.
