Online Ad-Nausea

The onslaught of Internet ads is in full swing. The PC World posting Online Ads to Surpass Radio tells the tale.

Marketers may be in for a surprise. Unlike radio, most Internet browsers support ad blockers. I’m experiencing a high ad blocking success rate using the Adblocker Plus Firefox add-on. As the Adblocker Plus tag line says, “Ads were yesterday!”

My ad tolerance is low. I’m using a digital video recorder to skip television ads. I experience ad-nausea when watching television away from home. How on earth do people tolerate about half of an hour programming being ads of one sort of another?

It seems some people like ads. I cringe when I hear them talk about this ad or that. I guess they represent the fact that no all of the billions spent on ads are wasted.
